Hailed by critics as a ‘thinking’ musician with engaging stage presence and a gratifying combination of virtuosity and eloquence, pianist Pedja Muzijevic has defined his career with creative programming and unusual combinations of new and old music. Praised as "extraordinary" and "a formidable clarinetist" by The New York TimesRomie de Guise-Langlois has appeared as soloist and chamber musician on major concert stages throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe and Asia. Laura Weiner is a passionate horn player and advocate for classical music. Brad Balliett, described as ‘impressive‘ by The New Yorker, is a musical omnivore, focusing equal parts of his diverse career on composing, playing bassoon, and teaching artistry. This newly connected community of diverse musicians comes together at our Screen Door Festival for a fascinating program that includes Brad’s set of five Viennese-style waltzes reimagined through a 21st century American perspective, Free But Miserable.
